A detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our growing finance team in Illinois. This role is designed for a recent graduate or a professional with 0–2 years of experience who is eager to build a solid foundation in corporate accounting. You will support the day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with GAAP, and contribute to the accuracy of our financial reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Documentation: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

 

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and manage timely collections to maintain healthy cash flow.

 

General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.

 

Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of state and federal tax filings, with a specific focus on Illinois state-specific tax requirements.

 

Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.

 

Data Analysis: Utilize accounting software to generate reports and identify budget variances or financial trends.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

 

Technical Proficiency: * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).

 

Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) is a plus.

 

Compliance Knowledge: Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

 

Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

CPA Track: Candidates currently pursuing or planning to pursue their CPA license in Illinois are highly preferred.
