Food Production / Kitchen Helper

Location: San Juan & Pharr, TX

Pay: $10.25 per hour (Overtime available; average 40–60 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM (depending on workload); Sunday availability required occasionally

 

Position Summary
Express Employment Professionals is hiring reliable Kitchen Helpers and Food Production Workers to join restaurant teams in San Juan and Pharr, TX. This role supports food preparation, packaging, cleaning kitchen equipment and storing food supplies while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Job Duties

• Receive and inspect raw meat and ingredients from approved suppliers; verify temperature, quality, and documentation
• Thaw, trim, cut, and cook meat to required internal temperatures
• Shred and mix cooked meat with sauces or seasonings, then cool and store safely
• Assist with general food preparation, mixing ingredients, and operating basic kitchen machinery
• Move, stack, and pack food products
• Wash pans, trays, and maintain clean work surfaces and production areas
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures throughout the process
• Stand for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen and production environment
• Assist with restocking supplies and other production tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Kitchen or food production experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and performing physical tasks throughout the shift
• Flexible to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions
