Material Handler

Located in Pittston, PA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler is responsible for various projects in the warehouse as assigned by different levels of management. These projects can include stickering freight, restacking cases, wrapping pallets or other general labor related duties. This role can also include utility support aspects relating to sanitation inside and outside of the building. This role supports efficiency of warehouse related projects and will work to meet requirements of productivity as set forth by the leadership team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Material Handling

• Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership.
• Restack products on and off pallets while meeting productivity requirements.
• Apply labels or stickers to cases and/or pallets.
• Inspects, sorts, and separates products based on quality requirements.
• Support the project team by completing assigned tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Sanitation

• Assist in sanitation related duties such as sweeping, mopping, collecting trash and other tasks inside the warehouse and outside the facility.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Skills and Competencies

• Interpersonal skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively with team members.
• Ability to meet quality and productivity goals in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable and able to work independently to complete assigned tasks or with a team.

Physical Requirements

• Working in a warehouse environment (50% Standing, 50% walking)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally (skid)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently (case handling)
• Ability to manipulate 25 lbs. frequently (case inspection)
