CNC Operator Machinist

Located in Madison Heights, MI

Salary: $18+ hr.

Our client, a Metal machine shop in Madison Heights, is seeking a  CNC Lathe Programmer producing components with 86/20, 41/40 steel. Responsibilities in this role include programming CNC lathe to create material, writing programs at the terminal from scratch, using calipers to produce parts up to specification

Duties: Set up, operate and maintain operations on one or more CNC controlled machines according to WSP production standards. Optimizing existing processes to achieve or exceed production standards. Make necessary adjustments to set-up, tool wear offsets, etc. Perform preventative maintenance and quality inspections accordingly.

Location: Madison Heights, MI

Shift: 1st Shift:  Monday – Friday with possible overtime

Position type: Long term, full time, permanent

Pay: Based on experience and interview results

Qualifications: 
• 5+ years of CNC basic operation experience, 2+ years of setup/programming (on the job experience)
• Workable understanding of gage/measurement knowledge (micrometer, comparator, etc.)
• Workable understanding of basic machining knowledge (turning, drilling, milling, grinding, knurling, etc.)
• Able to read and interpret documents, machine instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
