Night Mechanic

Located in North Bergen, NJ

Salary: 18.00

We are looking for a Night Mechanic who will perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment. This overnight position plays a critical role in ensuring all equipment is inspected, maintained, and fully operational for morning dispatch.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Check and change engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, hydraulic fluid, and other essential fluids

· Perform routine inspections of diesel trucks and heavy machinery

· Complete minor mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance

· Identify potential mechanical issues and report major repairs to management

· Maintain clean and organized work areas

· Ensure all equipment is ready and operational for morning dispatch

 

 

Qualifications

· Experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment is preferred.

· Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs independently

· Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures

· Strong attention to detail and safety

· Reliable, punctual, and able to work overnight hours

 

Physical Requirements

· Standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods

· Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and shop environments

· Clean and maintain the maintenance shop and wash bays

· Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition

· Follow all company safety policies and procedures
