Commercial Cleaner

Located in Madison, WI

Salary: $20 - $26/hr

Express is hiring for a Commercial Cleaner to work for a reputable real estate company with properties in the greater Madison area.

 

This role focuses on common areas only—no in-unit cleaning. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while traveling between properties. You will follow a weekly cleaning schedule, with some buildings cleaned multiple times per week and others once per week. This position involves driving between properties using a company fleet vehicle when available.

 

**MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE**

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas in apartment and commercial buildings

• Sweep and vacuum hallways and stairways

• Clean glass entry doors and surfaces

• Maintain laundry rooms, including wiping down machines and surfaces

• Restock and clean public restrooms (including toilet paper and general cleaning)

• Empty trash and recycling from common areas

• Perform basic general labor tasks such as replacing lightbulbs in hallways or assisting maintenance with small tasks

• Monitor properties and report maintenance issues as needed

• Follow a scheduled route and cleaning timeline for all buildings

Work Environment

• Work independently and travel between properties throughout the day

• Company fleet vehicles may be available depending on location (gas card and fleet account provided)

• May work additional hours during summer months or busy periods

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no DUIs)

• Must have vehicle insurance

• Ability to pass a background check and drug test

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Good attention to detail

Preferred but not required:

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience

Candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply—even without prior experience.

 

Pay: $20 - $26/hr, depending on experience

 

Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
