Position Summary
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR/Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in administering payroll and timekeeping systems across multiple company entities. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while supporting HR initiatives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively with employees, management, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for biweekly exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee electronic and manual check processes, payroll records, and reporting.
- Administer the automated timekeeping system, including onboarding, setup, auditing, training, and report generation for employees and supervisors.
- Process garnishments, levies, leaves of absence, and employment verifications.
- Compile and review payroll and HR data to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring timely corrections.
- Support 401(k), workers’ compensation, and other audits as required.
- Process accurate year-end reporting, including W-2s, 1095-Cs, and other required documentation.
- Manage taxation of employer-paid benefits.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, and other departments to maintain smooth workflow and accurate reporting.
- Participate in projects and process improvements as assigned.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in all employee and payroll matters.
- Provide exceptional support and communication to employees, management, and external agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s degree or certificate in Finance, Accounting, Payroll Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Paycom or similar payroll systems; ability to become proficient within 3 months.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and collaboration with HR teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary & Benefits
- Compensation: $60,000 – $100,000 per year (DOE)
