About the Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in a manufacturing environment. This role goes beyond traditional accounting by supporting daily Accounts Receivable (AR) activities while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger responsibilities.

Reporting to the Controller, this position plays a key role in improving financial procedures, supporting audits, and ensuring accurate reporting across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and presenting budgets and forecasts with key stakeholders

• Reconcile general ledger and assigned accounts monthly

• Handle daily AR tasks: invoicing, payment retrieval, cash application, and RMA credits

• Monitor AR aging, resolve discrepancies, and recommend write-offs

• Work with sales and production teams to support revenue tracking and customer communication

• Assign proper account codes to invoices and entries per Chart of Accounts

• Communicate with intracompany vendors/customers to verify month-end balances

• Maintain document retention policies, system accuracy, and financial KPIs

• Participate in internal/external audits and support compliance activities

• Cover AP and other accounting tasks during team PTO or absences

• Support special projects and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or CPA a plus)

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing

• Solid understanding of US GAAP, AR, AP, and GL principles

• Proficient in ERP systems (Visual ERP a plus)

• Strong command of Microsoft Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, advanced formulas)

• Comfortable using Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and editing PDFs

• Highly organized with strong problem-solving and multitasking skills

• Reliable, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and occasionally work overtime/weekends
