Cylindrical Grinder

Salary: $19.00+ BOE

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cylindrical Grinder to set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines to grind external and internal cylindrical and tapered surfaces of metal workpieces to blueprint specifications. This role requires precision, focus, and a strong understanding of machine operations in a manufacturing or machining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate cylindrical grinders (manual or CNC) to perform precision grinding operations.

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine grinding requirements.

• Mount and dress grinding wheels and workpieces.

• Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.

• Make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances and surface finishes.

• Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines.

• Document production data and report any nonconformities to supervisors or quality assurance.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1+ years of experience operating cylindrical grinders (either external or internal).

• Strong understanding of machine shop math and mechanical drawings.

• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ability to lift 50lbs independently and repeatedly.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Schedule: 

• Monday- Friday
• 7:00AM-3:30PM
• Overtime available

Pay: 

• $19.00+/hr based on experience
