Drywall Technician – Modular Home Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Drywall Technician is responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall components within modular home units during the manufacturing process. This role ensures walls and ceilings are properly prepared for finishing while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, quality, and production efficiency.

Technicians work within a team environment to support the completion of residential units on a production line.


Key Responsibilities

Drywall Installation

  • Measure, cut, and install drywall panels for walls and ceilings

  • Secure drywall to framing using screws, fasteners, and appropriate tools

  • Ensure panels are aligned properly and meet structural requirements

Finishing Work

  • Tape, mud, and finish drywall seams and joints

  • Apply joint compound and smooth surfaces for paint or finishing

  • Sand surfaces to achieve a clean and uniform finish

Quality Control

  • Inspect drywall installations for alignment, seams, and finish quality

  • Identify and repair defects or imperfections

  • Ensure work meets company quality standards and specifications

Tools & Equipment

  • Operate drywall tools including drywall lifts, screw guns, taping tools, sanders, and cutting tools

  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition

Production Support

  • Work efficiently within a manufacturing production schedule

  • Coordinate with framing, electrical, and finishing teams

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area


Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of drywall installation and finishing experience

  • Ability to measure, cut, and install drywall accurately

  • Experience taping, mudding, and sanding drywall seams

  • Ability to read basic construction drawings or layouts

  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift


Preferred Experience

  • Residential construction

  • Modular or manufactured home construction

  • Interior finishing or carpentry

  • Production manufacturing environments
