Express Employment has teamed up with a growing manufacturer in Spring Valley, IL who is looking to add reliable packers to their team. This role involves checking products for defects, loading and unloading pallets (50+lbs), and requires weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates and sets up laser machines and stamping presses, including start-up/shut-down, coil loading, securing equipment, and performing efficient cutting or stamping per specifications.
- Uses overhead cranes, forklifts, hand tools, and measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
- Performs visual and dimensional inspections, monitors gas levels, checks product quality, and stops production if parts fail to meet standards.
- Reads prints, applies shop mathematics, navigates Windows-based systems, and follows detailed work instructions and company policies.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to ISO, OSHA, and all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and maintaining clean, organized work areas.
- Conducts operator maintenance, housekeeping tasks, scrap removal, and lubrication as required.
- Moves materials—including coils, bins, racks, and containers—to and from machines using proper equipment.
- Collaborates with team members and leadership to meet production and quality goals and performs other duties as assigned.
