Equipment Operator (Entry-Level) – Scrap Metal Recycling
Location: Madison, WI - East Side
Pay: $20–$24 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

A well-established metal recycling facility in the Madison, WI area is seeking a reliable Equipment Operator to join their team. This company is a major recycler of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, serving industrial clients and salvage operations across the country.

This is a long-term opportunity with room for growth. New hires typically begin by assisting with general yard duties and material handling before advancing into equipment operation as they gain experience and training.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience

• Schedule: Monday through Friday

• Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

 

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment to ensure safe and proper operation

• Assist with loading and unloading scrap metal materials

• Operate a forklift and other equipment as trained

• Perform basic equipment maintenance and daily checks

• Assist with general yard duties and material organization

• Follow all safety procedures and workplace guidelines

 

Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience preferred

• Experience around heavy equipment or industrial environments is a plus

• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds regularly

• Comfortable working in an outdoor industrial recycling yard

• Strong attention to safety and willingness to learn
