Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Financial Management Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll specifically within the construction industry.

  • Complex Reconciliations Execute deep-dive account reconciliations to ensure 100% accuracy across multiple bank accounts, credit cards, and construction draws.

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting Generate and interpret quarterly and yearly financial statements. You must be able to explain variances, job costing, and profitability trends to leadership, rather than just delivering raw data.

  • Construction-Specific Accounting Manage progress billings, lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and job-costing breakdown to ensure project compliance and budget adherence.

  • HR & Compliance Oversee HR administration including onboarding, benefits management, and state/federal labor law compliance.

Required Technical Expertise

  • Advanced QuickBooks Mastery Expert-level proficiency is mandatory. You must be skilled in complex journal entries, troubleshooting data integrity, setting up advanced reporting features, and managing the General Ledger without external guidance.

  • Construction Industry Experience A minimum of 5 years experience specifically within the construction sector, with a firm grasp of WIP (Work in Progress) reporting and overhead allocation.

  • Analytical Mindset The ability to audit internal processes and provide strategic recommendations based on financial report findings.
