Marine Travel Lift Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Marine Travel Lift Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator to support vessel handling, dry dock operations, and heavy lifting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience operating large-capacity lifting equipment in a marine or industrial environment, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate marine travel lift equipment (large vessel handling)
• Transport vessels to and from dry dock for service, repair, refit, and storage
• Operate heavy cranes (up to 80 tons or higher, as required)
• Perform equipment inspections and follow all safety procedures
• Work in coordination with marine and yard teams
• Assist with rigging and load positioning as needed
• Maintain compliance with safety systems and company policies
• Perform supervisory duties if required

Required Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience operating marine travel lifts or heavy cranes
• Valid crane operator certification (preferred 80-ton ticket or equivalent)
• Knowledge of load handling and safety procedures
• Ability to read and interpret schematics/plans (asset)
• Experience working in marine, industrial, or heavy construction environments
• Strong mechanical aptitude

Certifications (Assets):

• Crane Operator Ticket
• Confined Space Entry
• First Aid Certification
• Forklift Certification
• Dry Dock Experience

Work Environment:
