Job Title: Entry-Level Machine Operator / Shop Assistant

Location: East side of Cleveland OH.

Schedule: Mon to Fri 10am to 7pm.

Pay: $15 per hour

 

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly trainable, mechanically inclined individual to join a one‐person machining shop and learn hands-on production work. This is an entry level position ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in consistency, and wants to learn how to operate a variety of manual machines. No prior machining experience is required—you’ll be trained on everything.

 

What You’ll Do

• Operate drill presses and manual machines to produce finished parts that meet specifications

• Perform production machine operation and machine setup

• Work with manual lathes, manual metal‐forming machines, compressors, and other shop equipment

• Handle small parts and complete highly repetitive tasks with accuracy

• Open the shop, power up machines, and maintain a clean, organized workspace

• Follow instructions closely and work independently with minimal supervision

 

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanically inclined and eager to learn

• Reliable, dependable, and comfortable working in a small, one‐person shop

• Able to work well with the shop owner (Mike) and maintain a positive, easygoing attitude

• Comfortable with:

• Standing all day

• Repetitive work with some task variety

• Medium lifting

• Handling small parts for extended periods

• A quick learner who can follow processes and maintain consistent quality

• Open to candidates new to the industry—prior machining or production experience is helpful but not required

 

Important Notes

• This is a highly repetitive, hands-on production role

• There is no upward growth path due to the size of the shop

• Pay is best suited for entry-level candidates, not experienced machinists

• You will receive full training on all machines and processes
