Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals – Forest Lake is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for Machinist openings in North Branch, MN. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong manual machining skills who enjoy producing high‑quality, custom components in a hands-on industrial environment.

 

Pay & Schedule

  • Hourly Pay: $25–$30 per hour

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Pay Frequency: Weekly

  • Employment Type: Evaluation-to-Hire

  • Location: North Branch, MN

  • Screening Requirements: No background check; no drug screen

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drills, and various fabrication equipment

  • Machine steel and alloy components to print specifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and tolerances

  • Manufacture custom and replacement parts for asphalt plant equipment

  • Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

  • Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills

  • Experience machining carbon steel and stainless steel

  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines

  • Manual machining experience, including large or heavy-part machining

 

Experience Required

  • Manual machining

  • Heavy-part or large-part machining

  • Experience in heavy equipment, asphalt, or industrial manufacturing

 

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Trade school training preferred

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs

  • Standing for extended periods

  • Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment

 

Equipment Used

  • Manual lathes, mills, drills, and fabrication equipment

  • Precision measuring tools including micrometers and calipers

  • Blueprint and tolerance interpretation tools
