Manager of Supply Chain & Logistics

Position Overview

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective flow of materials, equipment, and services required for operations. This role supports production and operational goals by managing supplier relationships, monitoring shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and implementing strategies that minimize supply chain disruptions while optimizing cost and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and lead daily supply chain and logistics operations to ensure efficient movement of materials and products throughout the organization.
  • Supervise shipments and delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve delays when necessary.
  • Oversee transportation, warehousing, and storage of materials and finished products.
  • Prioritize materials and components expeditiously when urgent operational or production requirements arise.
  • Build and cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply and service levels.
  • Manage compliance with import/export regulations and international shipping requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve supply chain exceptions, including damaged materials, defective components, and shipment discrepancies.
  • Oversee sourcing and procurement activities including supplier selection, purchase order management, demand planning, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support material planning, production scheduling, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain accurate transactions in the ERP system and oversee inventory control processes such as cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
  • Work closely with supply chain leadership, engineering, and production teams to ensure operational alignment and high levels of internal customer support.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels that support production requirements while minimizing excess stock and inventory carrying costs.
  • Negotiate pricing, quality standards, and delivery terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements and long-term partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain reporting related to purchasing activity, materials management, inventory usage, and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; or a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to five years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics, purchasing, or vendor management preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) certifications are a plus.
  • Experience within technical industries.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or SAP and ERP systems.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both domestic and international suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, data analysis, and ERP systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Asian languages is a plus
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends depending on operational needs.
