Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor for a growing manufacturing client. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong machining knowledge, CAM programming experience, and the ability to manage operations in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and CAM programming, along with the leadership skills to guide a small team while maintaining production quality and efficiency.
Supervise daily operations of the machine shop to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met
Program and optimize machining operations using CAM software (experience with Inventor CAM strongly preferred)
Develop and maintain tooling and fixturing strategies for efficient machining setups
Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and reduce cycle times
Order and manage raw materials, tooling, and shop supplies as needed for production
Oversee setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment
Ensure quality control procedures are followed and parts meet specification requirements
Maintain shop organization, safety standards, and proper machine maintenance schedules
Train and mentor machinists and operators on best practices, machining techniques, and process improvements
Strong background in CNC machining and shop supervision
Advanced CAM programming experience (required)
Experience with Autodesk Inventor / Inventor CAM preferred
Knowledge of tooling, workholding, and fixture design
Experience purchasing or ordering raw materials and tooling
Ability to operate in a low-volume, high-mix or quick-turn shop environment
Strong troubleshooting and process improvement skills
Excellent leadership and communication abilities
5+ years of machining experience
2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
Experience working with prototype, custom, or small-batch manufacturing
Full-time positionMonday – Friday
