Machine Setup & Operation

Position Summary

Operate, set up, and maintain CNC router machinery to cut, shape, and finish wood, composite, or panel products according to design specifications. Ensure part quality, safety, and efficient production flow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up CNC routers, fixtures, tooling, and programs.
• Load materials and verify correct program files.
• Adjust feeds, speeds, depths of cut, and offsets as needed.

Blueprint Interpretation

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and routing job tickets to determine cutting paths and machine setup

Quality Control

• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, surface quality, and tolerance adherence.
• Perform measurements with calipers, gauges, and related tools.

Maintenance & Safety

• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor adjustments on CNC equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate production logs, setup sheets, and quality checks.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding material needs, machine issues, or defects.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; CNC technical training or certification preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years operating CNC router machines or similar CNC equipment.
• Experience with wood, composite, or panel materials a plus.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with CNC tooling, feeds/speeds, and routing operations.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
