We are seeking a hands-on Control Systems Cabinet Technician responsible primarily for the assembly, wiring, programming, and testing of control cabinets for Monitoring Systems installations. This role focuses heavily on electrical cabinet builds while also providing limited administrative and project support to ensure accurate documentation, parts availability, and smooth project execution. All work must be performed in compliance with ESD and company safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties listed below represent the core functions of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Primary – Cabinet Assembly & Wiring (Major Focus)

  • Assemble and wire control cabinets using approved wiring methods and pre-built wire harnesses.
  • Interpret Order Confirmations and project documentation to complete cabinet builds accurately.
  • Create and modify wiring diagrams using Visio software.
  • Program ICP DAS modules utilizing Modbus RTU/DCON protocols and related utility software.
  • Utilize required electrical test equipment and software applications to test completed cabinets.
  • Troubleshoot wiring and component issues during build and testing phases.
  • Follow ESD and electrical safety requirements at all times.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and production-ready work areas.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs independently and 41+ lbs as a two-person lift.

Secondary – Inventory & Project Support

  • Order and maintain parts inventory for cabinet builds, including use of Kan-Ban systems.
  • Enter orders into ERP software and assist with order tracking.
  • Monitor parts availability to prevent production delays.
  • Assist with staging, palletizing, and preparing hardware for shipment.
  • Support Project Managers with documentation filing and maintaining customer folders on the network.
  • Provide basic reporting to management as required.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and project teams to ensure on-time completion of cabinet builds.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of electrical assembly, control panel wiring, or related technical experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams and technical drawings required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory control processes preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, military experience, or hands-on industry experience will be considered.
