IT Support Technician (Level 1) Job Summary:

A private faith-based university in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an IT Support Technician to join their campus technology team. This role provides frontline technical support for students, faculty, and staff, assisting with computer issues, classroom technology, and general help desk requests. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in beginning or growing a career in IT while working in a collaborative team environment.

IT Support Technician (Level 1) Responsibilities:

• Providing first-level technical support to students and staff for hardware, software, and system-related issues
• Troubleshooting common technical problems such as password resets, workstation issues, and connectivity problems
• Assisting with laptop setup, device configuration, and equipment preparation
• Supporting classroom technology and campus computer systems
• Documenting support requests and resolutions within the ticketing system
• Escalating more complex technical issues to higher-level IT staff when needed
• Assisting with basic equipment deployment and workstation setup
• Providing friendly and professional support while maintaining a strong customer service experience

Schedule and Pay:

• 1st shift, 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri
• $19.20/HR

IT Support Technician (Level 1) Qualifications:

• Candidates must be able to demonstrate beliefs that align with the core mission and values of the university
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to assist a wide range of users
• Interest in technology and troubleshooting technical issues
• Basic understanding of computers, operating systems, and common software
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
• CompTIA A+ or related coursework is a plus but not required
