STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Location: Grand Rapids, MN
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000/year, competitive and based on proven experience

Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established local company to hire a Staff Accountant. This role is responsible for a wide range of accounting, financial reporting, pricing analysis, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling both routine accounting tasks and time-sensitive deadlines. 

Qualified candidates will have proven experience in accounting management or relevant field. 

Key Responsibilities

• Post and review general ledger transactions
• Maintain daily and weekly accounting spreadsheets
• Assist with month-end close and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements for management review
• Update and maintain budget tracking spreadsheets
• Maintain customer pricing records
• Process new customer setup (credit checks and documentation)
• Review credit card statements monthly
• Enter recurring expenses and rent payments
• Maintain fixed asset records
• Assist with inventory audit preparation
• Support compliance documentation (licenses, excise tracking, insurance, 1099 support)

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree in accounting, finance, or related field 
• 6+ years of accounting or finance experience required
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and month-end close
• Proficient in spreadsheets and accounting systems
• High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organization
