Network Engineer / ISSM (Hybrid Role)

 

Location: Honolulu, HI (On‑site)

Clearance: Secret (active preferred; eligible required)

 

We’re seeking a versatile Network Engineer who will also support Information System Security Manager (ISSM) responsibilities for classified environments. This hybrid role combines hands‑on network engineering with DoD cybersecurity compliance work. Ideal for candidates who want to grow into specialized ISSM work while staying technical.

What You’ll Do

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems (switches, routers, infrastructure)
• Provide Tier 2–3 support and assist with help desk tickets
• Administer Windows and Ubuntu Linux systems
• Support and maintain classified systems in compliance with DoD requirements
• Draft security plans, SOPs, and documentation
• Perform security checks and apply STIGs
• Work closely with the FSO on security posture and inspections
• Contribute across a small, collaborative IT team

 

What We’re Looking For

• Active Secret clearance required
• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of network administration experience
• Experience with Windows + Ubuntu Linux
• Strong troubleshooting and network design skills
• Understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• DoD or defense contractor experience a plus

No required certifications; degree preferred but not required with the right experience.
