About the Role
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Commercial Project Engineer to support a growing commercial construction team with submittals, procurement, documentation, equipment coordination, and warranty processes. This position requires accuracy, organization, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Submittals & Project Documentation
· Read project specifications and schedules to determine submittal, O&M, and tag number requirements.
· Create, update, and manage submittal logs; prepare transmittals and submit packages to the GC.
· Track submittal review progress, prepare resubmittals, and return approved documentation to vendors.
· Compile job books including drawings, vendor lists, bid‑day information, buyout materials, and setup sheets.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
· Issue purchase orders with quotes and enter equipment into tracking systems.
· Issue subcontracts to TAB and insulation contractors.
· Coordinate equipment releases and gather weekly delivery updates.
· Schedule delivery appointments and coordinate logistics with vendors and site foremen.
Closeout & O&M Documentation
· Gather all O&M manuals, warranties, TAB and startup reports, training sheets, and spare parts lists.
· Assemble and ship final closeout packages and as‑builts to the GC; maintain office copies.
Warranty
· Maintain warranty logs during and after project closeout.
· Coordinate warranty service calls and communicate with maintenance supervisors.
· Order and process warranty parts, including credit invoices.
General Support
· File freight claims when damaged shipments occur.
· Participate in weekly meetings with the Colorado office and with project managers to review project status.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace with reliable attendance.
· Provide backup support to residential billing and incoming phone calls when needed.
Qualifications
· 2–3 years of experience in commercial project coordination or construction documentation.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
· Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
· Proficiency with project logs, spreadsheets, and documentation systems.
· Professional demeanor with consistent follow‑through and attention to detail.
