Job Summary

A manufacturing company in Springfield, NJ is seeking a dependable Welder / General Machine Operator to support production operations. This hybrid role combines hands-on welding work with operating and assisting on various production machines. The ideal candidate has welding experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding on metal components using MIG and/or TIG welding processes

• Operate and assist with general production machinery used in metal fabrication

• Set up machines, load materials, and monitor production runs

• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications

• Read and interpret basic blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings

• Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting when necessary

• Use hand tools, grinders, and measuring instruments to complete fabrication work

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following all safety procedures

• Assist with additional shop or production duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding experience (MIG preferred)

• Experience operating manufacturing or fabrication equipment

• Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and gauges

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment

• Basic machine setup or machining experience

• Experience with grinders, saws, or fabrication equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
