A locally established transportation and construction services company in Honolulu is hiring a Diesel Mechanic – Level I to support fleet maintenance and equipment repairs. This organization operates across multiple divisions including waste hauling, transportation, aggregate recycling, and fuel delivery, supporting construction and infrastructure projects across the island.
This role is ideal for a mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, performing repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, and helping keep a busy fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Your Contribution & Impact
Equipment & Fleet Repair:
Diagnose and repair diesel and non-diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
Engine & Chassis Work:
Perform repair and maintenance on chassis components, engines, and drivetrain systems.
Vehicle System Inspections:
Inspect and service transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, steering systems, and diesel emissions components.
Component Repair:
Repair refuse bodies, hydraulic control systems, air and hydraulic brake systems.
Road Service Support:
Provide field service when necessary to return equipment to safe operation.
Fabrication & Welding:
Perform line maintenance welding and basic fabrication tasks.
Diagnostics:
Identify equipment malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools.
Team Support:
Assist colleagues during breakdowns and support fleet maintenance operations.
Attributes for Success

Diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experience preferred

Knowledge of engine, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain systems

Ability to perform inspections and basic diagnostics with limited supervision

Comfortable using electronic diagnostic equipment
