Skilled Welder
New Iberia, LA | Full-Time | $21-24/Hr.
We are seeking a Skilled Welder II to fabricate, weld, and install steel components for modular and industrial buildings. This role requires experience with structural steel, welding machines, hand tools, and compliance with AWS/ABS/DNV standards.
Duties:
-
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
-
Perform daily fit-up and layout duties
-
Fabricate pieces per blueprints and specifications
-
Maintain schedule, quality, and safety standards
-
Cross-train and assist in multiple stages of production
Requirements:
-
2+ years structural steel welding experience
-
Proficient with welding machines, torches, grinders, tape measure, and other hand tools
-
Ability to read blueprints and follow specifications
-
Pass onsite 3G/4G weld test and offsite MIG test
-
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and work in varied environments
-
Must pass background check and drug screen
Preferred: Associates degree or technical certificate in welding, 3–5 years’ fabrication and MIG welding experience
