Machine Shop Lead/CNC Machinist

Salary: $24-29/hr BOE

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a skilled Machine Shop Lead/CNC Machinist on behalf of a local manufacturing client located in Buffalo, NY. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced machinist who enjoys leading a team, ensuring quality, and keeping production running smoothly.

Shift: 9:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday - shift time can be flexible for the right candidate

 

Payrate: $24-29/hr based on experience

 

Job Description:

• Coordinate daily workflow and production schedules.
• Perform in-process and first article inspections to verify part accuracy.
• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes) to meet customer specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Train new and existing machinists on procedures and safety.
• Maintain production records and estimate cycle times.
• Ensure all safety policies and shop standards are followed.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in a machining environment.
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and understanding machining process.
• Knowledge of various tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Skilled with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM, and other precision measuring devices.
• Mazatrol experience a plus.
• CNC programming (Mazak, Haas) preferred.
