Lead Cable Assembler

Location: Lancaster, PA

M-F 7am - 3:30pm

$18-$20 Hour DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Cable Assembler to support and guide our cable assembly team in Lancaster, PA. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting electrical cables and harnesses while also providing direction, training, and workflow coordination to ensure production goals are met. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical ability, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to mentor team members in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily cable assembly operations, ensuring team members follow technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Assemble and inspect electrical cables, wire harnesses, and related components with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Perform advanced assembly tasks including wire stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating using proper tools and techniques.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with company specifications, documentation requirements, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to new or less-experienced assemblers.
  • Monitor workflow to meet daily production goals, adjusting tasks and assignments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; promote a strong safety culture.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and other departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in cable assembly or electrical assembly required; leadership or lead-role experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, crimping tools, soldering equipment, and measurement instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to guide, train, and support team members while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts and assembly processes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to handle small components, wires, and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
