The Night Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and facility equipment to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operations during overnight production hours. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns by diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, identifying failed components, and performing corrective repairs to minimize downtime. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery, including lubrication, adjustments, inspection, and scheduled service tasks to prevent future failures. 
  • Replace defective parts and components, such as bearings, worn machine parts, and electrical fuses, to restore equipment to proper working condition. 
  • Use diagnostic tools, including multimeters, to check circuits, identify blown fuses, and verify electrical integrity. 
  • Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and instructions to support maintenance and repair procedures. 
  • Support machine startups after maintenance repairs, ensuring all systems are functioning properly before production resumes.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and any issues requiring follow-up.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work area, following all safety procedures and identifying any potential hazards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, use a multimeter, and understand logic controllers. 
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, including experience replacing parts, bearings, and mechanical components. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and equipment documentation. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Ability to work independently during night shift hours.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in a paper converting, packaging, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 
  • Basic fabrication capability for maintenance tasks.
