Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals – Forest Lake is seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician for a long‑term opportunity in Forest Lake, MN. Pay & Schedule

  • Hourly Pay: $23.00–$25.00/hour

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

  • Pay Frequency: Weekly

  • Employment Type: Evaluation-to-Hire

  • Location: Forest Lake, MN

  • Screening: Drug screen required; no background check

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform or assist with maintenance and repair of facility heating/AC, plumbing, and lighting systems

  • Ensure preventive maintenance is completed year-round while following all safety and SOP regulations, including Mustad Performance System (MPS)

  • Complete daily or weekly janitorial duties such as sweeping production and office areas, cleaning locker rooms, lunchrooms, and restrooms, and restocking supplies

  • Handle snow removal, including shoveling and plowing as needed

  • Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, and planting

  • Perform occasional painting or cosmetic building updates

  • Ensure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled; maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • Provide documentation as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Excellent problem‑solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Training or certification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or related fields strongly preferred

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience Required

  • 3+ years of building and grounds maintenance experience

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and ventilation systems

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing and walking

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, balance, reach above shoulders, crouch, and climb

  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception

  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs

Work Environment

  • Factory setting

  • Exposure to heat, humidity, dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, and airborne particles

  • Exposure to loud noise and moving mechanical parts

  • Mandatory use of company‑provided PPE

  • Occasional exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures

  • Infrequent work at heights
