Summary:
The Freight Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the scheduling, coordination, and tracking of inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills to work closely with carriers, vendors, and internal teams while ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate domestic and international freight shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Evaluate and select carrier and broker options, onboard new freight vendors as necessary.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with sales, production, and warehouse operations to support efficient planning and execution.
• Analyze logistics data, processes, and outcomes to select optimal freight solutions that meet on-time delivery goals.
• Collaborate with customer locations to support accurate and timely order management.
• Respond to inquiries related to billing or product issues, referring cases to the appropriate department for resolution as needed.
• Conduct biannual carrier performance reviews and provide structured feedback.
• Utilize and enhance tools to track shipments, monitor KPIs, and support continuous improvement in logistics performance.
• Apply technical, troubleshooting, and auditing skills to resolve freight or process issues effectively.
• Receive and process customer orders using industry-specific software systems.
• Create and update customer and vendor records as required.
• Thrive in a cross-functional environment and demonstrate flexibility in cross-training to support departmental and company-wide goals.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal teams and external clients, ensuring professional and responsive experience.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Experience:
• Minimum High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum one-year related logistics and distribution experience
• Accounting or bookkeeping experience is a plus.
• Experience in the industrial paper industry is a plus.
• Truck, rail, and ocean logistics operations experience a plus
Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
• Experience with accounting software, inventory systems, manufacturing platforms, order processing, or project management tools is a plus
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management skills and the confidence to take initiative and follow through on assignments
Language Skills:
• Ability to read and understand job orders, procedural documents and written instructions in English
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Mathematical Skills:
• Solid mathematical abilities, including working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and calculating rates, ratios, and percentages
Reasoning Ability:
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to approach problems constructively and apply sound judgment

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this role, you will primarily be based in an office environment, with occasional visits to the warehouse as needed. Employees must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and close-toed shoes while on the production floor, in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Work Hours:
This position follows a regular schedule of Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Overtime work may be required.
