Job Summary

The General Laborer at a fertilizer terminal supports daily operations involving the loading, unloading, storage, and handling of bulk fertilizer products. This position assists with maintaining a safe, clean work environment while operating equipment and performing manual labor in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload bulk fertilizer from trucks, railcars, and barges

• Operate conveyors, augers, pumps, and other material-handling equipment

• Assist with blending and transferring fertilizer products

• Perform general housekeeping duties including sweeping, shoveling, and cleanup of spilled materials

• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns

• Assist with bagging, stacking, and palletizing fertilizer products

• Direct truck traffic and assist drivers with positioning for loading/unloading

• Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations

• Use hand tools and power tools as needed

• Support maintenance crews during repairs and shutdowns

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous experience in industrial, agricultural, terminal, or warehouse environment preferred

• Ability to operate forklifts, skid steers, or front-end loaders (preferred but not required)

• Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus

• Ability to work in dusty environments and varying weather conditions

• Strong work ethic and dependability

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly

• Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts during peak seasons
