Metal Fabrication Machine Operator

Located in Grand Rapids, MI

Salary: $20.86/HR

Metal Fabrication Machine Operator Job Summary: Operates several different types of machinery and tools to produce products and material that is needed for the Welding Department, Assembly Departments, and Parts Orders as required.  These include, but are not limited to: Break Press, Drills, Saws, Benders, Grinders, and Vibratory Finish.

Metal Fabrication Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates many different types of equipment in the Metal Fabrication Department.
• Assembles items as instructed by team leader or supervisor.
• Lifts raw materials and final products either manually or by using a hoist.
• Operation of Break Press, Drills, Saws, Benders, and Grinders
• Prioritizes orders according to work schedule or at Supervisor’s discretion.
• Works with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Provides a great level of attention to detail and focuses on the given task.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Pay:

• Monday – Friday 6:00am-2:20pm, Overtime as needed, weekends included
• $20.86/HR

Metal Fabrication Machine Operator Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read tape measures.
• Previous experience with metal machines or fabrication shop is helpful
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math to include fractions.
• Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team.
• Must be dependable and cooperative.

• Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• High School Diploma or GED
