Location: East Dundee, IL

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)

Assignment Length: 4–8 weeks

Pay: $17.00

Position Overview:

This temporary role focuses on the final finishing stage of plush toy production. The Hand Sewer is responsible for closing seams by hand, ensuring each toy meets quality, safety, and appearance standards. This is a short-term position for detail-minded, hands-on workers, with the possibility of growing into a long-term role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hand-sewing to securely close plush toys and produce clean, consistent stitching.

• Follow quality guidelines to maintain product safety, durability, and appearance.

• Work efficiently to meet daily production goals.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Support general production needs as assigned.

Sewing Test Criteria:

All candidates must complete a hands-on sewing test demonstrating:

• Stitch Strength — Seam remains fully closed when pulled firmly.

• Aesthetics — Stitches appear “invisible” or neatly tucked.

• Speed & Comfort — Confident handling of needle and thread.

Requirements & Expectations:

• Reliability and consistent attendance throughout the 8-week assignment.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

• Ability to perform repetitive hand movements.

Equipment Used:

• Basic hand-sewing equipment and materials provided by the client.
