Forklift Operator / Packaging Associate
Location: Shawnee, KS
Pay: $19–$20 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
Overtime available; occasional Saturdays optional

Position Overview
Our client in Shawnee is seeking an experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator to support the packaging and production operations of a busy agricultural products facility. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that combines forklift operation with packaging line support.
This is not a forklift-only position. Team members are expected to stay active and rotate between responsibilities throughout the shift.
Strong attendance, attention to safety, and the ability to operate efficiently in a tight warehouse environment are essential. Consistent, reliable employees have the opportunity for permanent hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a sit-down Toyota propane forklift in a tight warehouse setting
- Move large containers of agricultural products, including fertilizer and weed control materials
- Rotate onto the packaging line to operate bagging equipment
- Position plastic bags for automated filling
- Monitor packaging flow and maintain production pace
- Transport completed pallets from packaging to warehouse storage
- Work alongside automated robotics that stack finished product
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Note: This role supports the plant/packaging side of the facility and typically does not involve loading or unloading trucks.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced production environment with minimal downtime
- Slightly dusty conditions due to packaging processes
- Warehouse doors typically open for ventilation (except during extreme weather)
- Smaller facility requiring strong maneuvering skills and safety awareness
- Team-oriented crew with a steady workflow
Employees should expect to remain active and engaged throughout the entire shift.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift (Toyota propane preferred)
- Ability to operate safely in tight spaces
- General warehouse experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, and sitting throughout the shift
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Drug screen required (including THC)
Dress Code
Warehouse-appropriate attire: work pants, closed-toe shoes, and a clean t-shirt.
