Day shift schedule: M-F 6:00am-3:45pm with a 45 minute lunch break Saturdays are optional.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter/Welder specializing in MIG welding to join our manufacturing and construction team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working on construction sites, interpreting blueprints, and utilizing various hand and power tools to produce high-quality welded structures. Responsibilities

  • Tack-welds pieces together
  • fabricate and repair parts of metal and other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics, and sketches using materials
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding
  • for diverse metal components, ensuring compliance with ASME codes & standards.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools to verify dimensions during fabrication.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools.
  • Assemble components using hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and welding techniques to construct ductwork, structural frameworks, or machinery parts.
  • Conduct quality inspections utilizing schematics, blueprint reading skills, and basic math to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to construction site activities, crane operation, forklift handling, and mechanical procedures.
  • Support fabrication tasks involving sheet metal work, machining processes, soldering, and assembly of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction sites or manufacturing facilities to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and adjusting techniques as necessary for optimal results.

Experience

  • Proven experience working on construction sites with a strong understanding of site safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MIG welding; familiarity with FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) is advantageous.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • The candidate should possess a thorough understanding of mechanical systems, which includes pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • possess the ability to safely operate power tools like press brakes, plasma cutters, grinders, and drills.
  • You should be familiar with the ASME codes and standards that are related to welding and fabrication practices.
  • The candidate should possess basic math skills to perform measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
  • The candidate should possess mechanical knowledge that is applicable in manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Experience with rigging operations involving cranes or hoists is preferred.
  • The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, soldering irons, and schematics for troubleshooting or assembly tasks.
