POSITION TITLE:     PROVIDER SERVICES SPECIALIST - TECPDS         

                                                                         

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Provider Services Specialist – TECPDS provides training, technical assistance, data validation and system support to childcare providers and partners to strengthen the early childhood workforce. This role will be involved with processes relating to childcare providers, including outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and maintaining licensed/registered/listed providers for participation in the Child Care Program. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes the TECPDS to promote, document, and track professional development opportunities within the early childhood workforce.
  • Supports increased participation in TECPDS among childcare providers and partners.
  • Supports childcare provider onboarding, account setup, and data entry in TECPDS.
  • Assists with TECPDS system navigation during account setup and ongoing use.
  • Provides training and technical assistance to childcare providers and partners.
  • Analyzes TECPDS data to support workforce development planning.
  • Recruits and enrolls licensed/registered/listed childcare providers for participation in the Child Care Program
  • Negotiates, develops, and maintains childcare provider agreements, files, and supporting documentation
  • Monitors provider childcare service delivery for compliance with the Texas Workforce Commission and local requirements
  • Enrolls, maintains, and monitors Relative Care providers and Out-of-Board Area providers, which includes determination of eligibility
  • Payment processing for approved attendance reporting from providers
  • Reports illegal operation of unregulated childcare providers
  • Assesses community childcare resources
  • Collaborate with community trainings for benefit of providers and/or staff.
  • Identifies community programs for benefit of customers, such as employer-assisted childcare
  • Must be willing to travel and have dependable means of transportation
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years work experience with data entry, fact checking, time management, and customer service required
  • Strong organizational skills are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must have Texas valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation. Occasional local travel using personal vehicle may be required                                        
  • The Provider Services Specialist position is subject to a successful background check following the offer of employment and a successful background check every two years (24 months) during employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • One year of full-time work experience in a licensed childcare facility, preferably in a managerial role
  • Bi-lingual
