Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals – Forest Lake is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for a reputable lumberyard located in Hugo, MN. This position is ideal for someone with solid forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced outdoor and warehouse environment.

  • Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, move, and stage lumber materials.
• Handle and organize lumber while maintaining accuracy and preventing damage.
• Assist with general yard duties, inventory movement, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Use a tape measure to verify lumber sizes and ensure correct material handling.
• Collaborate with yard staff to support daily workflow and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of forklift experience; lumberyard experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of lumber species, grades, and material types is a major plus.
• Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Basic math skills required for measuring, counting, and material handling.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and sit for up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to climb ladders as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must wear safety glasses in designated areas.
• Other physical demands may include standing and walking for extended periods.
