Job Title: Bar Turner – Bar Processing

Job Summary

The Bar Turner is responsible for machining and processing metal bars using lathe machines to produce components as per technical drawings and production requirements. The role ensures precision, quality compliance, and safe machine operation in the bar processing section.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate conventional or CNC lathe machines for bar turning operations.
Perform machining operations such as turning, facing, threading, grooving, drilling, and boring.
Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications accurately.
Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.
Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per tolerance requirements.
Use measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments when necessary.
Conduct routine maintenance and report machine issues to supervisors.
Maintain production records and follow quality control procedures.
Follow safety standards and maintain housekeeping in the work area.

Required Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in Turner, Machinist, or relevant technical trade.
2–5 years of experience in bar processing or lathe operations.
Strong knowledge of machining processes and metal cutting principles.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Familiarity with quality inspection tools and procedures.
Basic knowledge of CNC programming (preferred).
