Overview
Express is seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our client in south Calgary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in maintaining and repairing various types of equipment. This role is essential for ensuring that their machinery operates efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall productivity of their operations.

Duties

• Operate and test equipment to ensure it meets quality and efficiency standards.
• Diagnose complex systems (engines, electrical, propane, hydraulics, fuel) and perform major repairs using diagnostic tools and instruments.
• Develop and maintain a schedule for preventative maintenance and routine repairs (e.g., oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and reconditioning).
• Enter and review work orders, complete parts ordering via the fleet management system, and produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Assist the shop lead with customer damage estimates, manage service calls, and dispatch Field Service Mechanics as needed.

Requirements

• Red seal mechanic or technician in automotive repair or industrial equipment maintenance.
• Safely handle assorted tools and lift up to 50 lbs with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow up with customers promptly and professionally.
• Solid computer skills for entering work orders and supporting system data entry.
• Maintain a clean work area, adhere to company procedures, and perform additional duties as assigned.
