Our client in Fairfax, IA is looking for a Fuel Technician!

Position Summary: The Driver / Fuel Technician is responsible for safely operating a company fuel truck throughout a large construction site to refuel generators, portable lighting systems, and heavy equipment. This role ensures equipment remains operational by monitoring fuel levels, maintaining accurate records, and performing basic inspections. The position requires independence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced construction environment while following strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive a company fuel truck throughout a 7-acre construction site to refuel generators, portable lighting systems, and equipment
• Fill diesel fuel tanks and add DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) as required
• Monitor and document fuel levels for 30+ pieces of equipment daily
• Maintain accurate fueling logs and daily documentation
• Perform basic inspections and routine care of the fuel truck and fueling equipment
• Identify and report fuel needs, leaks, or equipment concerns to site management
• Maintain clean, organized fueling equipment and work areas
• Follow all safety procedures and site regulations while working on an active construction site
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license required
• Experience in construction, fueling, driving, or general labor preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and manage daily fueling schedules
• Comfortable driving throughout large job sites and working outdoors
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness
• Reliable attendance and strong communication skills

Hours:

• 1st Shift, Monday – Friday
• Flexible start and end times based on site needs

Pay:

• $20.00 – $22.00/hour
