Facilities Maintenance Technician

Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support equipment, building systems, and operational assets. This role is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and general maintenance to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of troubleshooting mechanical and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment and Production Maintenance

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery

• Maintain and repair material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes (certification required)

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

• Conduct equipment diagnostics, repairs, and performance testing

• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment

Facility and Building Maintenance

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs

• Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, and minor electrical repairs within scope

• Replace lighting fixtures, ballasts, and related components

• Maintain clean paint, blast, and work areas

• Support facility organization and upkeep efforts

• Perform lawn care, grounds maintenance, and pest control support as needed

• Manage disposal of facility waste and materials safely

Vehicle and Asset Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on company vehicles

• Track maintenance schedules and service records

Technical and Safety Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment issues and repair or replace faulty components

• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders

• Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments safely

• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain clean, organized work areas

• Support continuous improvement and workplace organization initiatives

• Maintain maintenance logs and documentation as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Technical training, apprenticeship, or maintenance experience preferred

• Minimum 4 years of manufacturing, industrial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems; basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic understanding

• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics

• Problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Physical Requirements

• Frequent use of hands and tools

• Regular standing, walking, and reaching

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

• Must be able to safely operate a forklift and maintain required certifications
