Warehouse Forklift Operator (Sit-Down)

Pay: $18.00/HR
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30AM–4:30PM (1-hour lunch)

A distributor of building materials and construction supplies, is seeking a dependable Warehouse Forklift Operator to join their team. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate.

Position Overview

This role is a combination of forklift operation and general warehouse duties. Candidates must have prior sit-down forklift experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

You will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, and work closely with the Warehouse Manager, both of whom maintain a positive and team-oriented work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload materials

• Pick, pull, pack, and prepare orders for shipment

• Perform pick-and-pack duties on foot using carts

• Assist with shipping and receiving using UPS, FedEx, and USPS systems

• Utilize a computer (web browser-based platforms) to process shipments

• Move product safely throughout the warehouse

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the shift

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and carrying

• Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse (hot summers, cold winters)

• Steel toe boots required

Qualifications

• Required: Prior sit-down forklift experience

• Ability to read and write

• Comfortable using a computer for shipping functions

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Professional attitude and ability to follow warehouse policies

• Consistent reliable transportation is required to be qualified
• Attendance is important and crucial, candidates who have problems in this area will be let go quickly
