Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Skilled Machinist with experience operating and setting up Press Brake and Punch Press machines in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time opportunity for a candidate who understands machining fundamentals, precision measurement, and equipment troubleshooting.

This is not a general machine operator role — we are seeking a true machinist who can independently set up equipment, adjust tolerances, and ensure dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

As a Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

Setting up and operating Press Brake and Punch Press machines.
Adjusting machine settings to meet blueprint specifications and tolerances.
Troubleshooting mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Selecting and installing proper tooling, dies, and punches.
Measuring parts using calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges.
Using hand and power tools to assist with setup and fabrication tasks.
Performing quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
Conducting routine equipment checks and minor maintenance.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe machining environment.

Requirements

Prior experience as a Machinist (Press Brake / Punch Press required).
Ability to independently set up and adjust machines.
Strong understanding of machining tolerances and precision measurement.
Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and measurement tools.
Experience with hand tools and power tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Reliable attendance and consistent, tenured work history preferred.
Safety-focused mindset in a production environment.

Skills & Qualifications

Press Brake and Punch Press setup and operation.
Blueprint reading and tolerance interpretation.
Tooling selection and machine adjustments.
Mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.

Shifts & Hours

Full-Time schedules available
1st and/or 2nd shift opportunities depending on facility
Overtime may be available based on production needs
