Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Skilled Powder Coater for a metal fabrication and manufacturing environment. This is a full-time opportunity for candidates experienced in applying powder coating to various metal components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

We are seeking individuals who understand surface preparation, coating techniques, and proper equipment usage. This is not an entry-level role — prior powder coating or related finishing experience is required.

Responsibilities

As a Powder Coater, your responsibilities will include:

Spraying powder coating onto various metal pieces using electrostatic spray equipment.
Preparing metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, grinding, or other methods to ensure proper adhesion.
Operating within a powder booth while maintaining a clean and controlled application environment.
Inspecting coated materials for even coverage, defects, or inconsistencies.
Using hand and power tools, including saws, grinders, and prep equipment.
Assisting with cutting or prepping metal pieces as needed prior to coating.
Monitoring equipment performance and troubleshooting minor issues.
Ensuring proper storage and handling of powder materials.
Following all safety guidelines related to chemical handling and industrial equipment.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace.

Requirements

Prior powder coating experience required.
Experience spraying coatings onto metal components.
Familiarity with surface preparation and metal finishing processes.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and saws.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout shift.
Reliable attendance and consistent work history preferred.
Safety-focused mindset in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Qualifications

Electrostatic powder spray application experience.
Knowledge of metal preparation techniques.
Ability to identify coating defects and correct issues.
Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment adjustments.
Strong time-management and production efficiency skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.

Shifts & Hours

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Full-Time
Overtime may be available based on production needs

Pay & Benefits

$18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
Weekly pay through Express Employment Professionals.
