Job Summary

As a Batch Operator at you’ll play a key role in the daily operation of complex industrial chemistry processes. You will help ensure safe, efficient production, maintain quality standards, and support continuous improvement efforts within the plant. Batch Operators work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the plant’s safety program and maintain a high standard of industrial housekeeping.

• Operate and monitor mixing and packaging equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.

• Ensure production processes are carried out correctly and documented — including order of addition, mixing times, and other key set points.

• Perform inventory checks of raw materials and packaging materials for daily production schedules.

• Adjust equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine changeovers as needed.

• Monitor PLC systems, flow meters, and gauges; control valves and pumps to transfer materials safely.

• Verify finished products meet quality standards (e.g., weight, appearance, labeling, batch identification).

• Assist in training and guiding new or temporary team members.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).

• 3+ years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.

• Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Preferred / Competencies:

• Familiarity with SAP and PLC systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment issues.

• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime when business needs require.

• Forklift operation and additional equipment experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Batch Operators work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to chemical processes and industrial equipment. The role often involves shift work and requires adherence to strict safety and quality standards.
