Express Employment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of a well-established machine shop in Sugar Land, TX, seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EDM Machinist. This role involves setting up, operating, and programming Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to manufacture high-precision components that meet strict quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to work with advanced equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on precision, quality, and continuous improvement.
Set up, operate, and maintain wire and sinker EDM machines to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
Interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to manufacture precision components
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs to verify part dimensions
Inspect finished parts for quality and troubleshoot EDM process issues as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards
Collaborate with engineering and production teams on tooling setups, process improvements, and new projects
Proven experience operating EDM machinery with a solid understanding of EDM principles
CNC programming experience (Fanuc or similar control systems preferred)
Strong blueprint reading skills and working knowledge of GD&T
Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
Experience with CNC lathes, milling machines, or other machining equipment is a plus
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Experience with injection molding or welding is a plus but not required
$25.00 per hour (flat rate)
