Position Summary

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work in a production shop environment. This is a shop-only position (no field/site work). The position is temporary-to-hire, with the opportunity for permanent employment based on performance, attendance, and business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum plate and sheet
• Read and interpret shop prints and blueprints accurately
• Set up, adjust, and operate welding machines and related fabrication equipment
• Perform layout, fit-up, and fabrication of parts and assemblies
• Use precision measuring tools including dial calipers
• Verify dimensions and tolerances to meet specifications
• Maintain welding quality standards in accordance with company requirements
• Keep the welding and fabrication area clean, organized, and safe
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of welding/fabrication experience
• Proficiency in GTAW and GMAW processes
• Experience welding plate and sheet metal
• Strong math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements, tolerances)
• Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Valid Florida driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

 

• Manufacturing shop environment
• Standing for extended periods
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
• Exposure to welding fumes, grinding, and fabrication equipment

This is a temporary-to-hire position. Continued employment and transition to permanent status are contingent upon job performance, reliability, attendance, and operational needs
