1st Shift Tool Maker

Salary: up to $35/hr

Job Summary/Company Information: 

 

A manufacturing company in Edinburgh, IN is hiring a Tool Maker to their team. The Tool Maker / CNC Programmer–Operator is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding molds, tools, and fixtures used in production. This role also supports CNC programming and machine operation, along with utilizing 2D/3D mold files and CAD/CAM software as needed. The position involves hands-on machining, troubleshooting, and maintaining a safe, organized tool room environment.

 

Tool Maker's Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on molds, jigs, and fixtures.
• Inspect molds for damage or wear that may impact performance or part quality.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
• Operate tool room machinery such as Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, and surface grinders.
• Use CAD/CAM software to assist with design modifications or blueprint creation.
• Program and operate CNC machinery as production requires.
• Keep equipment clean, properly maintained, and in safe working condition.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Pay/Benefits:

• Up to $35/hr based on experience
• Health, dental, vision, 401k, and profit sharing offered (paid out 2x/year)
• Location is temperature-controlled

Schedule:

• 1^st shift available
• Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Requirements:

• Completion of a toolmaking or machining apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Mold building and machining experience required.
• CNC programming and operating experience preferred.
• Familiarity with common computer operating systems, technical documentation, and shop software.
• Knowledge of standard mold repair practices and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience with overhead hoists used for mold handling and maintenance.
